The Journey to Village of Grace

Once upon a time, there were three women, who were wives and mothers, that wanted to make a difference in the World. Two of these women were blessed to have children that were prayed for and loved by them, yet born to others. In their journey towards building their families, they came across a great need in a beautiful country and decided to do something to help. What a blessing that the third woman also had such a beautiful heart to give, and also brought a skill set that would allow this big dream of making a difference to become an actual reality. So were the beginnings of Village Of Grace…

Here at VOG, we are passionate about helping not only the vulnerable children in the Democratic Republic of Congo but also their communities and the entire country to thrive. With the vision of the aforementioned three mothers and the help of our amazing donors, we provide ongoing support to children living in welfare centres. Our purpose is to relieve poverty and advance education for orphaned and underprivileged children living in Kinshasa, DR Congo. We do this through the supply & delivery of food, water & necessities, covering tuition fees & supplies, providing medical care & vitamins, and looking for ways to cover our eighteen children with prayer, and love. Because ultimately, we believe in not only giving them the tools to survive but to be able to thrive. We are looking to truly inspire change, and not nearly sustain. We choose to see the children of the Democratic Republic of Congo, not through the eyes of what is, but of what could be. With quality education, proper nourishment, and outpourings of love and care from home mothers, these very children will become the leaders in their communities who will also implement great change for their country. The DRC is a beautiful country, rich in resources, and full of strong & resilient people. It is such a blessing to play a small part in creating great change for these children and their incredible country.

Our inspiration found its roots in our faith. We believe we have been called to serve the world. We are a Christ-centred organization looking to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We take seriously the call to care for our brothers and sisters around the world. We are Built on Love, and Steeped in Grace. His grace sustains us all and allows us to be abundantly blessed as we live our lives to bless others.

And so we welcome all of you reading this, first of hopefully many blog posts, to join us in prayer, support, and love of these children. Will you choose to write yourself into their story? We are excited to see how God will take the dreams of three women, multiply the gifts of each donor, and weave together this beautiful adventure as we dedicate Village of Grace to Him and the furtherance of His Kingdom.
